Employment Cost Management(ECM®) – was brought to the market by Dirk Heirman, founder of DHR Partners. Throughout his years of practice in Compensation & Benefits, Reward Management and Personnel Administration, Dirk learned that focusing on Employee Cost Management is only part of the story within efficient and optimal people management.
Streamlining the HR Processes with the business objectives, keeping out inefficiencies in the processes and HR products, looking critically at external partners in HR management can strengthen efficiency and effectiveness of people management and lead to cost savings.
ECM® can be improved based on isolated projects. DHR Partners recommends a structural review of the entire HR operation, an ECM®Audit of HR Products, Services and Processes.
Processes are reviewed with a focus on flow, exception management where opportunities for optimization and reduction of redundant administrative tasks are targeted. We look at: recruitment, on- and off-boarding, pre- and post-payroll and personnel administration management, performance management, pay policies and associated benefits, job house, job classification… . Our expertise in these areas allows us to improve efficiency within this framework and create win-win situations within the framework of salary policies that encourage staff satisfaction and reduce costs for the organization.
Our attention also goes to people with a focus on an analysis of HR strategy, of engagement & retention, union operation, turnover, management of communication flows …
HR products, such as HRIS systems, will also review contracts with various service providers (temporary employment agencies, social secretariats, and fleet managers…). We often find that, after working with a service provider, the collaboration, its functioning, and costs are no longer questioned. We examine the agreements made with them to identify cost-saving opportunities, leveraging our market knowledge.
ECM® aims to probe in a systematic way for HR subtasks and interactions that could be set up even more efficiently. This is performed by DHR Partners who, as an external party, does not burden the operation of the organization and can test it against market best practices. Finally, the audit identifies opportunities for efficiency gains and cost reductions in addition to a concrete work plan to realize them.

DHR Partners wants to establish a partnership in order to convert the opportunities proposed in the ECM® Audit report into reality in the most optimal way. Our consultants and partners can support the concrete realization of the proposed improvements. This way, a report becomes a practical tool and contributes structurally to the elimination of the cost of employment within the organization.
We worked together with DHR Partners (Dirk Heirman) on a bigger project in the comp&ben and labor relations space. Dirk showed himself as a very knowledgeable and trusted advisor. He was instrumental in bringing this project to the result we wanted to see. Dirk is a strong relation builder at different levels (management, unions, front line employees, ...) and he combines that strength with deep knowledge and understanding of the comp&ben field. Based on this project, I would surely recommend DHR Partners.
